she rose up from ashes of her old self and her past mistakes, finally seeing she’s been on fire for too long, longer than anyone can withhold the pain of the flames. She dusted herself off after shedding the snake like skin of what was her previous self, being aware of the bruises and broken bones she has to mend. turning up the heat as a punishment to herself as she believed she deserved it since people were swinging at her like a piñata as she tried to rise- and not because they wanted to, but they didn’t know if they were about to get burned from the flames.
But you can’t keep setting yourself on fire to rise from the ashes- or you become a burnt mess.
Being able to rise in solitude will always be better than being ready to burn with things that do not benefit her life, there is no space for temporary slots in her life anymore, no patience for distractions.
She cannot fly if she keeps setting fire to herself.
She cannot fly if someone keeps clipping or setting fire to her wings.
She cannot see the beauty in which she is if she is always reminded of the ugliness she once was.
Until someone wants to see the beauty in her, she has to see it herself.
but the only way to see it is to look forward at it, not backwards at the past.
Perspective is everything.
